Garuda Indonesia Now Flies to London, United Kingdom

Jakarta. Garuda Indonesia will resume flights to the United Kingdom (UK) this Monday, 8 September 2014. The inaugural flight from Jakarta to London is graced by UK Ambassador Rebecca Razavi, along with the personnel of the Nidji Band on board.
The flight to London Gatwick will transit at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the Netherlands. The Indonesian flag carrier is optimistic that they will be able to get passengers on this popular route, despite the heavy competition in the aviation industry.
“To Europe, our competitors are the Middle Eastern carriers, but we are offering a direct (flight) whereas others must wait for the connecting flight. Our price is also competitive, and our service is more superior,” shared Garuda Indonesia spokeperson Ikhsan Rohsan as quoted byKompas.com.
Ikhsan further shared that the route will optimistically provide an increase of dollars revenue and expected to reduce losses suffered by Garuda recently. In the first semester of 2014, this Indonesian state owned enterprise had booked a USD 211.7 loss, which is equivalent to Rp. 2.43 trillion
